We are a community of evangelical Christians who believe that following Jesus with integrity means that our lives are formed by our love for God, the teaching of the Bible and a fearless life of discipleship in the complexities of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. We believe that one of the first hallmarks of discipleship is love for both our own community and for our enemies. We wish to find Jesus at the center of everything we do and to make his life our life. Which means finding courageous love for Palestinian Arabs and Israeli Jews alike.

Dr. Geoff Tunnicliffe

Then (In 2014) Secretary General and Chief Executive Officer, World Evangelical Alliance

I want to commend all who have facilitated this important conference. We in the World Evangelical Alliance believe this event, Christ at the Checkpoint is a direct response to Jesus’ call for us to be peacemakers and ambassadors of reconciliation

We have heard the voice of the Palestinian Church… Your testimonies have moved us… your anger and frustration have at times unsettled us… Your yearning, aspirations, and dreams have inspired us

Doug Birdsall

Then (in 2012) the general secretary of the Lausanne Movement

Lynne Hybels

Co-founder of the Willow Creek Church

To be there and to understand what this conflict looks like and what the occupation looks like … brings a new reality to the theology

If somebody wants to know what Palestinian Christians think, they should come and ask them what they think. They will be happy to tell you. They will be happy to organize a ‘Christ at the Checkpoint’ conference

Pastor of the International Church at Yale
